Google Sheets: How to Autofill Values from Another Sheet

The following step-by-step example shows how to autofill values from another sheet in Google Sheets.

Step 1: Enter Data in First Sheet

First, let’s enter the following data into Sheet1 in Google Sheets:

Step 2: Autofill Data in Second Sheet

Now suppose we have another sheet titled Sheet2 that contains the following data:

Suppose we would like to autofill the values from the Points column in Sheet1 into a Points column in Sheet2.

To do so, we can type the following formula in cell C2 of Sheet2:

=Sheet1!B2

This will automatically populate cell C2 in Sheet2 with the value from cell B2 in Sheet1:

To autofill the rest of the values in column C, we can hover over the bottom right-hand corner of cell C2 until a tiny “+” appears.

Then click and drag down to all of the remaining cells in column C:

Notice that all of the values from the Points column in Sheet1 have been autofilled into Sheet2.

  1. I’m trying to import an autogenerated Google sheet that is created by Google Form to then create a separate Google Sheet based on the input from the original Google Sheet. Can’t find anything to help anywhere. It was already working, but now is not.

  2. is there any way to autofill a row with data from columns on another sheet?
    so filling A1, A2, A3 etc. with data from B3, C3, D3, etc.

  3. I did this so that if a lead was marked an opportunity on one sheet it auto-populates the information into the opportunity tab. But now when it auto fills it does not add an entire row so the fields that are still editable get all jumbled up. How do I fix this?
